Meet Journey to Journey’s Founder and Therapist
Porscha M. Stevens
Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor (LCSW-S), Certified Domestic Violence Professional (CDVP), and Founder/Lead Therapist at Journey to Journey Therapy Services. I am from Chicago, IL, where I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago and my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Illinois State University.
Throughout my career, I have worked with people experiencing many challenges, but I specialize in working with BIPOC adolescents and adults who have: trauma/stress-related issues, anxiety, depression/mood-related issues, domestic violence, family/relationship issues, behavioral concerns, academic/career issues, suicidal ideation, self-harm, self-esteem, life adjustments/daily stressors, and anger issues.
When not at Journey to Journey, I enjoy cooking, exercising, painting, reading, dancing, listening to music, binging tv shows/movies, quality time with family/friends, sunbathing, traveling, being a plant and dog mom, and trying new things!
Welcome to the journey of becoming your best self!
I believe that life’s a never-ending journey yet a powerful adventure, and this particular journey isn’t done alone. Throughout my journey of life, I’ve gone from the witness to the victim, to the survivor, to the thriver, back again, and beyond…. so no, the journey isn’t always pretty nor easy, but it will certainly tell some amazing stories. While therapy and the healing journey can be intimidating, I believe everyone can benefit from it….. even your therapist has a therapist!
So, my hope is to provide a therapeutic space where you feel safe, seen, heard, validated, valued, supported, and empowered. Clients who work with me appreciate my authentic "down-to-earth" personality, gentle humor, and simplified collaborative approach.
Let your healing journey begin!
